Job Description
EHS Support is seeking an Early Career Environmental Scientist/Engineer for a home-office-based position in Western Australia. The role involves providing technical support for environmental projects, including assessments and compliance for various sectors. Responsibilities include data management, report preparation, field inspections, and project management. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 2-3 years of experience. The position allows for remote work with some required field trips.
Location: Home Office Based Position for EHS Support Pty (Preferably Western Australia, Australia (other states considered))
Description: The successful candidate for this position will provide technical support to a diverse range of projects in service areas that include environmental site assessments, remediation, management system development, compliance and sustainability. This will involve work for clients across multiple sectors, including oil and gas, chemical and heavy industry, water resources and others.
The position is primarily a home-office-based position, with periodic fieldwork required. This may involve extended (e.g. two-week trips) to regional areas of Australia. Project work is primarily based in Australia, but there may be opportunities to support projects in the United States and other international locations. The preferred location for this position is Perth/Fremantle, Western Australia, although other locations will be considered.
Typical responsibilities will include:
• Management, analysis and presentation of environmental investigation, monitoring and remediation operations data, including groundwater, surface water, soil, recovery and other types of data
• Desktop data gathering and compilation
• Background reviews of technical guidance, regulations and case studies
• Assistance with reporting and preparation of other written deliverables, including: monitoring reports, environmental site assessments, work plans, health and safety plans, proposals, estimated rehabilitation costing, plan of operations, and annual returns
• Implementation of environmental field inspection and monitoring programs, including groundwater and surface water monitoring and soil sampling
• Supervision of subcontractors in the field (e.g. drilling supervision, excavation supervision)
• Project and task management – planning and implementation of scope, schedule, budgets
Position Requirements:

Qualifications for this role include:
• Bachelor or Masters degree in soil science, hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, environmental engineering or other relevant science/engineering degree.
• Two to three years of experience in a relevant environmental role, including training and experience in groundwater and soil sampling.
• A developing understanding of environmental and resource regulations (with a focus on Queensland preferred).
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel (experience with Power BI and other database management experience is preferred, but not essential)
• Australian experience and a current ability to work in Australia (citizenship or valid visa) is required
• Current Australian state driving license preferred.
