Job Posting: Early Career Environmental Scientist

Job Title: Early Career Environmental Scientist

Location: Omaha, NE (or Lincoln, NE)

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Early Career Environmental Scientist to join our team in either Omaha, Nebraska or Lincoln, NE. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful fisheries, natural resources, and environmental projects. The ideal candidate will have a focus on fisheries biology and environmental science.

What You Will Do
• Assist with fisheries, water resources, natural resources, biology, ecosystem restoration, environmental and hazardous waste.
• Conduct field data collection, including handling, species identification, and field measurements of fish.
• Compile accurate and complete field documents, support data management and analysis and assist with report preparation.
• Field work will typically be conducted at various project sites across Nebraska.

What You Will Need
• A Bachelors degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Fisheries, or Natural Resources.
• A strong interest or background in fisheries biology and environmental science.
• Familiarity field data collection of fish species is desired.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team and manage multiple tasks under a broad range of weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience with towing boats and enclosed trailers is desired.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
