Job Description

BGIS is seeking a Director of Real Estate Services in Northwest Territories, Canada, to lead a team of Transaction Managers in negotiating leases and managing a diverse commercial portfolio. Responsibilities include team development, managing renewals, ensuring compliance with KPIs, and negotiating complex transactions. Candidates should have a relevant degree, 5-10 years of real estate experience, and strong communication skills. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $108,068 - $135,085.
The Director, Real Estate Services leads a team of Transaction Managers who are engaged in the negotiation of new leases and renewals in a diverse commercial portfolio, including office, retail, industrial and technical facilities, as well as some acquisitions and dispositions of land and office, on behalf of our large corporate clients.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for leading and developing a diverse, productive and high-performing team, and fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation. Ensuring the team is equipped with the right process and systems/tools to achieve results as per contract obligations.
• Proactively manage all aspects of upcoming renewals, options and critical dates pertaining to the client’s real estate portfolio and ensuring that files are assigned to appropriate Transaction Manager for execution. Develop mitigation strategies as required to reduce risk.
• Responsible for any KPI’s, service plan and contract deliverables, guaranteed savings, within the area of responsibility.
• Responsible for the overall client facing elements of real estate services to include - Transactions, leasing strategy, financial analysis, approvals and documentation.
• Responsible for directly negotiating more complex transactions.
• Liaise with real estate brokers, consultants, broker of record, legal counsel, etc. in order to maintain the integrity of the client’s real estate portfolio and represent client in a professional manner

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University. Geography, Urban Studies, Planning, Business or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated experience that is typically noted with up to 10 years’ experience.
• Experience in a service provider role.
• 5-10 years’ experience in corporate or commercial real-estate leasing (acquisitions / dispositions / Leases/financial analysis).
• Related Management experience.
• Ability to be licensed to trade in Real Estate in Canadian Provinces, as required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer focus and exceptional negotiation skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Strong team player, professional and approachable.
• Excellent organization and planning skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $108,068 - $135,085 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education, professional designations and performance related to this role.
