Insight Global is hiring a Critical Environment Project Manager for a 24-month contract in Boydton, VA. The role involves overseeing the integrity of newly constructed data centers, ensuring compliance with specifications, managing program operations, and coordinating maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems. Day-to-Day
Insight Global is seeking talented and qualified professionals to work a long-term contract with one of our largest technology clients in the Boydton, VA area. This person will join the infrastructure integrity team and work between the commissioning and construction teams to stop and/or prevent any maintenance issues after turn-over of live data centers from the general contractor. Projects can range from a large-scale fiber project to GPU deployments, to the construction of a car park. We are seeking dynamic individuals to perform program management & administrative duties to ensure the physical structure of the newly constructed data center meets the design specifications of the owner. Candidates will be responsible to ensure Data Centers are built to the correct specs, participate in design calls, site walks & inspections, document any potential installation or construction issues, and track the remediation of issues through correction.
Data Center Operations:
• Accountable for the ongoing Critical Environment (CE) support for all service lines ensuring the on-time and defect-free delivery of customer capacity within our SLA commitments.
• Ensures compliance with data center business units and service-level policies.
• Engages with appropriate teams and resources to execute tasks or projects.
• Manages programs associated with area of responsibility.
• Demonstrates conscientiousness on cost adheres to budget requirements; keeps costs reasonable and contributes to staying within budget.
• Follows and adheres to safety and security policies and procedures. Reports immediately any safety or security issues or concerns.
• Participates in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process as appropriate.
Service Delivery:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations, delivery, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in our Data Centers (MOP/SOP/EOP review, RCAs, FMEAs, change governance, and risk mitigation)
• Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environment (CE) incidents
• Coordinate, plan, schedule, and supervise CE audits and compliance verification
• Ensure routine reporting to effectively manage and analyze our Power/Temperature/Relative Humidity, and SLA monitoring
• Establish and enhance strong working relationships and engagement with our Engineering Groups, Design Teams, Construction Partners, and Technicians
Must-haves
• 5+ years of Critical Environments/General Construction experience
• Previous Experience completing Design Reviews
• Knowledge of critical environment concepts and infrastructure (e.g., Electrical Distribution, Mechanical Cooling Systems, etc.)
• Previous Experience performing preventative maintenance of Electrical and Mechanical Systems
• Compass/Nexus
• Project Management documentation, meetings, inspections, submittals, tracking
• Site Walks
• Data Center experience (Low Voltage/High Voltage)
• Working knowledge of NFPA70E, National Electrical Code (NEC), ASME, IEEE
• NFPA, OSHA, HVAC, EPA, PMP, PMI or any other applicable certifications
• SME level working knowledge in the Control of Hazardous Energy in complex mission critical infrastructure
Plusses
• CJIS Certification
• Proven experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU)
• Bachelor’s Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or services
• Experience working on large scale CE projects
• Experience with the operation of IT infrastructure (Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.)
Pay range for this role is between $30/hr - $50/hr
