The Cmcc Foundation is seeking a Climate Research Scientist for Numerical Model Development in Lecce, Italy. The role involves implementing and enhancing hydrological models to analyze coastal processes, requiring a PhD in relevant fields, programming expertise, and familiarity with UNIX/Linux. The position is full-time and focuses on data processing and research at land-sea interfaces.
Job Description
This position is for a researcher with good knowledge of coastal physical processes, numerical models, and programming skills. The primary purpose of this role is to take on a pivotal position in implementing, testing, and further developing hydrological models to better serve the connection between inland and sea waters by embedding the routing of surface and subsurface terrestrial water flow.

Key Responsibilities
Implementing, testing, and further developing hydrological models; Processing and interpreting data from simulations and observations; Conducting research on compound processes at land-sea interfaces.

Requirements
PhD in Physics, Engineering, or other scientific disciplines dealing with numerical modelling; Experience in numerical modelling development; Good knowledge and skills in programming languages (e.g., Python, Fortran, MATLAB, R); Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems and script languages.
