Job Purpose

Water conservation is a major concern in Colorado, and Resource Central's Slow the Flow program has been instrumental in helping people conserve water for twenty years, saving over 170 million gallons of water. The Water Conservation Associate will have a crucial role in this program by conducting sprinkler system checkups and offering recommendations to reduce water usage on lawns. This position involves fieldwork, including daily travel to appointments, and a strong focus on providing excellent customer service. The position starts on June 3, 2024, and is anticipated to continue through August or September 2024. Compensation includes $18.50 per hour, mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, paid training, and paid sick leave.

Principal Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Conduct sprinkler system checkups at homes, businesses, and other properties to help people conserve water
• Travel from home to worksite locations daily (appointment locations provided) with mileage reimbursement
• Test and adjust sprinkler systems to improve water conservation and system performance
• Program sprinkler control clocks for efficient watering schedules
• Educate homeowners and business owners on best practices for outdoor water use
• Attend meetings in person, via Zoom, and by phone
• Assist with other Resource Central programs as assigned
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion

Qualifications

• Passion for helping people conserve water
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude
• Minimum age of 18 upon start date
• Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, reliable automobile, and smartphone
• Successful background check and driving record evaluation
• Fieldwork primarily in the Front Range region
• Ability to lift 30 pounds, walk extensively, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Experience in fieldwork, landscaping, sprinklers, or sustainability preferred
