Utility Data Analyst Intern

Cherry Street Energy is seeking a Utility Data Analyst Intern for a 2-3 month engagement in Atlanta, GA. The intern will support the Utility Data Team by reviewing solar feasibility, financial impacts, and utility requirements for projects. Responsibilities include producing solar designs, updating rate schedules, and collaborating with sales and finance teams. Ideal candidates are recent graduates with skills in analytics and SQL. The position offers $18-20/hour and potential for full-time employment.
Job Summary : We are seeking a Data Analyst Intern to join our team for a 2-3 month engagement. During this time, you will support the Utility Data Team by reviewing on-site solar feasibility and the financial impact for new projects. This includes reviewing utility requirements for installation, system size limitations, preliminary solar designs, as well as ensuring our prices remain competitive for the customer and profitable for Cherry Street. This position will report to the Utility Data Manager and has potential to turn into a full time role at the end of the Internship.

Key Responsibilities
• Produce preliminary solar PV designs and rate reviews and provide a proposal within 5 days from when an inquiry is made.
• Regularly update rate schedule data to ensure it reflects the latest available pricing and energy projections for the customer.
• Maintain record-keeping of outcomes and analysis.
• Engage with our sales team, our project development team, and the finance team to work collaboratively to find a price that is both attractive to the customer and profitable for the company.
• Understand solar production curves and the implications of utility rate schedules.
• Prepare and conduct quarterly business reviews for our existing customers.
• Maintain daily diligence of data within our database.
• Use SQL to manage our database and query information.
• Manage several projects at once which requires daily task management maintenance.
• Stay up to date and knowledgeable of utility rate changes that include rate tariffs, interconnection programs, utility solar requirements, and utility market trends.
• Attend calls with the sales team explaining our offering and utility questions or concerns from the customer.

Qualifications
• Recent graduate or Summer / Fall 2025 graduate with Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Analytics, Mathematics, MIS or science field
• Can work creatively, analytically and proactively in a problem-solving environment
• Communicate complicated mathematical and structural concepts
• Can manage multiple assignments at once and deliver high-quality results in a timely manner
• Enjoy working with a dynamic, cross-functional team
• Are fluent in Excel, Powerpoint, and SQL
• Bonus if you have experience using Helioscope or Smartsheets
• Internship Experience in Analytics, renewable energy, and/or Utilities a plus!
