Redwood Materials is seeking a Technical Program Management Intern for Summer 2026 to support projects focused on recycling lithium-ion batteries. Responsibilities include ensuring project timelines, engaging stakeholders, managing resources, and documenting milestones. Candidates should be pursuing a relevant degree and have prior experience. The position requires working in both office and production environments in McCarran, NV, and is available as a 12-week internship or 4-8 month Co-op.
About Redwood Materials

Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.

Essential Duties:

Redwood Materials is seeking a Technical Program Management intern to support our team in Summer 2026. These roles are at the center of our activities focused on creating a sustainable circular economy for lithium-ion batteries by transforming recycled materials into battery materials for new lithium-ion battery production.

Responsibilities Will Include:

Support the on-time delivery of projects while ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and aligned to the project’s goals
Partner with TPMs to implement and drive project requirements, workflows and plans while managing timelines, resources, communications, quality, risks, uncovering roadblocks, defining critical paths, identifying resource constraints, and any other issues that arise
Organize and support in-field equipment installation and commissioning teams, including engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, and external contractors
Identify and document all project milestones and deliverables and keep project plans up to date at all times, including resource allocations, tracking hours, monitoring schedules, milestones, deliverables, updating percentage completion, etc.
Track and manage change requests to scope and obtain approval if necessary

Desired Qualifications:

Pursuing a B.S. or advanced degree in an engineering or related discipline
Prior internship or work experience with a leading technology company
Having a scrappy, MacGyver approach to quick problem solving
Self-motivated, hands-on mindset, with a willingness to contribute at all levels
Being mission driven, having a passion for sustainability, and making the world a better place
Support the creation of formal project communication plans, key project metrics and dashboards for project status communication

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments
Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety gloves, helmets, and eyewear, or additional PPE when required
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone and in person, including listening and speaking

Working Conditions:

Split work environment between office and the production facility
Work may involve extended periods of working in the production facility
Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time

This full-time paid position may be arranged as either an internship (12 weeks) or a Co-op (4-8 months), depending on the candidate.

The location of the internship is either in the Reno or Carson City, Nevada area (exact location is based on team placement). Interns are responsible for making their own housing and transportation arrangements. Please note that due to the location of our campuses, public transit options are limited, and the use of a personal or rented vehicle is recommended.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
