Teacher Of Science - Biology/Environmental (Special Education) The Essex County Schools of Technology is seeking a 10-month Teacher of Science - Biology/Environmental (Special Education) at Payne Tech for the 2025-26 school year. Position Purpose Under the School Principal's supervision, the Science Teacher (Special Education) fosters a comprehensive understanding of biological concepts and principles. They engage students through dynamic and interactive lessons, promoting scientific inquiry and critical thinking skills while integrating real-world applications and current scientific advancements.
Qualifications
Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility Science - Biology/Environmental Certification Special Education Certification Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods Ability to maintain a positive learning environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status Must be resident of New Jersey or attain residency within one year unless exempted under the law Performance Responsibilities:
Instructs students in core scientific disciplines, including biology, physical science, earth and space science, life science, and environmental science. Develops and delivers engaging, inquiry-based lessons that incorporate real-world scientific phenomena and current research. Designs and administers formative and summative assessments, using data to inform and adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs. Prepares students for academic and real-world success by fostering scientific literacy, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
