Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Sustainability Planner in New Orleans, LA, to develop and coordinate energy management and conservation projects per DoD guidelines. Responsibilities include project development, climate policy implementation, technical support on sustainability, and preparing reports. The position offers a salary between $70,000 and $85,000 based on experience. Candidates should have relevant degrees and at least 4 years of experience in military or sustainability planning.
The Sustainability Planner will review existing documentation to develop and coordinate mandated energy management and related conservation projects, in accordance with Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) and Department of Defense (DoD) directives and guidelines. This position pays from $70,000 - $85,000 depending on experience and certifications. The Sustainability Planner will champion the annual update of the Sustainability Strategy and advise on how to implement recommendations in compliance with DoD
sustainability directives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Program and project development
- Development, coordination, implementation and monitoring of climate change policies and initiatives.
- Coordinating with other professionals and government officials on policies and projects.
- Providing technical knowledge, guidance, data, support and advice in the area of environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, waste, recycling, climate change policies and initiatives, and public health.
- Preparing and providing annual reports and studies on the benefits and outcomes of sustainability programs.
- Developing marketing strategies to promote sustainability.
- Advancing programs and policies to address environmental sustainability.
- Participating in meetings, as necessary, with other team members and MARFORRES stakeholders.

- DoD experience
- Masters degree
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, geography, public policy, or related area.
- 4+ years of professional experience within military planning or sustainability planning
