Job Description

Ben Aris is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer in California to support environmental compliance and permitting projects. Responsibilities include ensuring timely completion of government reporting, maintaining operational records, and communicating with engineering teams. Candidates should have a B.S. in Engineering or related science, with 5 years of experience in environmental engineering, preferably in the refinery/petrochemical sector. This is a full-time position and does not offer remote work.
The Senior Environmental Engineer will provide technical support and assistance for the on-going compliance with environmental regulations.







Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Provides support as needed for environmental compliance and permitting projects.Maintains current knowledge of existing and proposed regulations and provides technical support to refinery on topics related to environmental compliance.Ensures federal, state or applicable government reporting obligations (e.g., SARA 313 reports; Emission Inventories; NSPS Reports; MACT Reports; Annual Waste Summary Reports, AQMD Regulation Reports) are completed in a timely and compliant manner.Maintains operational records necessary to demonstrate compliance with assigned environmental regulations/programs.Assists with permitting tasks as needed, local AQMD experience is preferred. Communicates effectively with Engineering and Operations personnel to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits is continually achieved.Participates in on-call duty rotation with the department, knowledge of refinery units preferred.Ensures assigned Spill/Upset/Emission Event/Reporting requirements are satisfied in accordance with all applicable regulations.Performs other duties as assigned.





Requirements & Qualifications:



B.S. Degree or higher in Engineering or related Science required.
5 years experience of Environmental Engineering with refiner/petrochemical operator required.Experience in working with environmental compliance reporting and permitting is a plus.
