Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer with 10+ years of proven experience in commissioning electrical systems for large-scale building projects, including commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, mixed-use developments, and other complex facilities. The successful candidate will lead electrical commissioning activities from design review through testing, verification, and project handover while ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and sustainability requirements.


Candidates with experience in green building commissioning, design verification, and sustainable building certification will be highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities



Lead and manage electrical commissioning activities for building projects from pre-design through final handover.
Review electrical designs, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documents to ensure commissionability and compliance with project requirements.
Perform design verification and identify potential issues during the design stage to minimize construction and operational risks.
Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, checklists, and functional performance test scripts.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, MEP teams, and facility operators throughout the commissioning process.
Witness and verify factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), pre-functional testing, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing.
Verify the performance of electrical systems including:
MV/LV power distribution systems
Transformers and switchgear
Emergency generators
UPS systems
Lighting and lighting control systems
Earthing and lightning protection systems
Fire alarm and life safety systems
ELV systems interface
Building Management System (BMS) integration
Review testing and commissioning documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and as-built drawings.
Prepare commissioning reports, issue logs, deficiency tracking, and final commissioning documentation.
Ensure compliance with applicable local and international standards including IEC, NFPA, IEEE, and project specifications.
Support project teams in achieving project quality, safety, and sustainability objectives.
Participate in integrated systems testing and final client demonstrations.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior commissioning engineers.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical commissioning of building projects.
Demonstrated experience with commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, mixed-use developments, airports, data centers, or similar complex facilities.
Strong understanding of electrical design principles, commissioning methodologies, and building systems integration.
Proven experience in design review and design verification.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, coordination, and report-writing abilities.
Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications



Experience in Green Building Commissioning.
Experience supporting sustainability certification projects such as LEED, Estidama, BREEAM, WELL, or equivalent.
Commissioning certifications (e.g., BCxP, CxA, CxM, ACG, ASHRAE, or equivalent) are an advantage.
Experience with retro-commissioning, ongoing commissioning, and building performance optimization is desirable.
