Job Description
Arch Solar, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Service & Quality Management Technician in Wisconsin to maintain residential solar PV systems. Responsibilities include inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and customer service. The role requires a focus on safety, strong communication skills, and some experience with solar systems and basic networking. Physical work outdoors is involved, including climbing and lifting. A valid driver's license is necessary for traveling between job sites.
Ready to work with purpose in renewable energy?
As our Arch team continues to expand, we’re looking for a hands-on, safety-focused SQM Technician who’s ready to get out in the field and keep our residential solar PV systems running smoothly. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, working outdoors, and making a difference in clean energy — we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be part of the team that keeps our site equipment and systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably. From maintenance to inspections, troubleshooting to repairs — you’ll get your hands on all kinds of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work.
As an SQM Technician, your day-to-day will involve a mix of operations, inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting across a wide range of residential solar PV systems. You'll play a key role in making sure everything runs safely and efficiently, and you’ll be expected to quickly respond to any issues that pop up in the field. You'll be commissioning new solar, digging into troubleshooting, handling repairs and upgrades to equipment, and keep close tabs on system data using tools like SolarEdge and Enlighten.
Customer service will also be part of the role. You’ll be helping homeowners understand how their solar systems work, training them on monitoring tools, and answering their questions in a way that builds trust and confidence. You’ll manage service calls with a friendly, professional attitude and aim to provide customers with our Arch standard “white glove treatment” by resolving their concerns quickly and thoroughly.
Beyond that, you’ll be documenting inspections, recording serial numbers, and feeding helpful insights back to the sales, design, and install teams so we can all keep getting better. You’ll also work with equipment vendors on warranty claims, help with material ordering by reading plan sets, and assist with system monitoring installations after commissioning.
What We’re Looking For
We're looking for someone who’s committed to safety above all else — someone who knows when to stop a job and speak up if something seems off. You should have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable traveling between job sites. A strong attention to detail and a love for solving problems will go a long way in this role.
You’ll need to communicate clearly — whether you're writing up reports, chatting with a customer, or collaborating with the rest of the team. Things move quickly in our world, so being adaptable, staying organized, and managing your own schedule effectively are all must-haves. We want someone who brings positive energy to the team — someone who’s honest, dependable, and always looking to improve.
We’re especially interested if you have a solid grasp of solar PV systems — from design and installation to how to read electrical one-line diagrams and manufacturer manuals. Some familiarity with basic networking — like installing and configuring routers or Wi-Fi adapters — is a big plus, as is general computer savvy, especially with tools like Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
This role involves physical work and outdoor exposure, so you’ll need to be comfortable climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, and working in all kinds of weather. You’ll also be around high-voltage equipment, so prior experience in environments with electrical systems is definitely helpful.
