About the RoleAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Water Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across South Africa. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the planning, design and delivery of municipal water and wastewater treatment works.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee the design and delivery of complex engineering projects, and manage multidisciplinary project teams from concept through to completion.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning and design of water treatment and wastewater treatment works.Prepare and review engineering designs, calculations, specifications and technical reports.Manage projects through all stages of the project lifecycle, from feasibility to construction support.Provide project management services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and liaise with clients, contractors and regulatory authorities.Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.Ensure compliance with relevant South African engineering standards, regulations and industry best practices.Attend client meetings, site visits and project progress meetings as required.Support business development through client engagement and proposal preparation where required.Minimum RequirementsBEng/BSc Eng/BTech in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.Registered as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng)with ECSA.Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration will also be considered.Minimum 15 years' experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment works.Proven experience managing engineering projects within the water sector.Strong understanding of South African design standards and municipal infrastructure requirements.Excellent report writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel when required.Preferred ExperienceExtensive experience delivering municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.Strong project management experience within consulting engineering.Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and client relationships.Ability to work independently while providing technical leadership to project teams.What's on OfferOpportunity to work on significant water infrastructure projects across KwaZulu-Natal.Flexible working arrangements with the option to be based in KwaZulu-Natal or Johannesburg.Collaborative and technically focused working environment.Opportunity to lead high-impact projects and mentor engineering professionals.
