Job Overview

The incumbent will enhance the capability of manufacturing science in the organization for API and specialty chemicals. This position is primarily responsible for process development, scale-up (Literature search, executing laboratory development activity, preparing technical documents) and Technology Transfer on manual or automated platforms with high quality within the time frame. Support Manager in Lab and EHS management; Support Manager in Lab competency building.

Experience

7 – 10 years

Competencies
• Knowledge and understanding of Synthetic Organic chemistry, reaction mechanisms, and kinetics with 7-10 years of industrial experience in various synthetic techniques and process scale-up.
• Well versed with Intellectual property value, green chemistry Principle
• Knowledge of HPLC, GC, NMR, and Mass spectral data analysis and interpretation.
• Desired Knowledge of plant operations, quality systems, ICH guidelines, GLP & GMP
• Very good ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and present results.
• Technical writing skills. MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Chemdraw and Internet Applications.
• Knowledge of SAP and other sourcing tools.

Key Role & Responsibilities

Process development for new or identified products (API/Speciality chemicals)

Under general supervision of lab team leader, independently perform routine scientific research tasks using standard techniques, procedures and equipment.

Adapt and optimize or develop new methods and procedures, actively contribute to the technical solution-finding process.

Propose solutions and discuss with manager/R&D engineers

Show synthetic and organic chemistry proficiency

Assist and support process engineers and cross-functional team in the scale-up of new product technology

Business Support

Troubleshoot & or improve existing processes.

Support in Developing Quality Control Specs to develop designated products.

Compliance and Lab Administration

Summarize and document results in lab journals, and prepare technical reports.

Maintain a clean working laboratory environment and suitable working equipment.

Perform general lab assignments (e.g. raw material inventory review, lab housekeeping) as assigned.

Comply with regulations concerning safety, health and environment

Others

Support lab leader for project reviews, presentations, scientific reports preparations, literature search and analysis.

Attend meetings to share new ideas and discuss about issues.
