Senior Grid Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Senior Grid Compliance Engineer to join our EU team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that our products (BESS and WTGs) are aligned with system operator’s expectations.


You will work at the interface of R&D, front line sales team, and project delivery supporting grid strategy, modelling, and technical due diligence across a diverse portfolio of projects.


Key Responsibilities

Lead the assessment of products and facilitate in site level compliance against applicable Grid Codes and connection requirements.
Develop and maintain grid compliance strategies for WTG and BESS projects across UK/EU and selected international markets.
Deliver and review grid compliance studies using industry-standard tools such as PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or ETAP.
Support project teams in interpreting connection agreements and ensuring alignment with technical and regulatory obligations.
Monitor and interpret changes in grid regulations, policies, and ancillary service frameworks.
Act as a technical interface between clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Support the Advisory function with technical reviews of grid-related documentation and client queries.
Identify and mitigate technical risks in the grid connections offers of ER and work on its resolution with active stakeholder engagement.
Contribute to the continuous development of internal capability through knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring.

Stakeholder & Project Engagement

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure aligned and efficient project execution.
Engage directly with clients to understand project requirements.
Represent the organization in discussions with DNOs, TSOs, and regulators where required.
Participate in industry working groups, consultations, and events.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Reporting Line
This role will report directly to the Technical Lead for the EU region and work closely with cross-functional teams.


What We’re Looking For

3+ years of experience in grid compliance engineering and network modelling.
Strong understanding of power system dynamics and grid stability.
Knowledge of German Grid Code and standards (G99, P28, P27, P29, G5/5).
Experience with PSCAD, PowerFactory, or ETAP.
Ideally have experience working on projects in Eastern Europe
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Experience with grid-forming technologies.
Familiarity with ancillary service markets.
Exposure to international grid codes.
Knowledge of grid charging, ancillary services, balancing markets, Capacity Market, and flexibility services.
Experience in advisory or due diligence work.
