Project Location: Patharprathima Block, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal

Engagement Period: 3 weeks

Language Requirement: Bengali (Mandatory)

Preferred Candidates: Based in West Bengal

Ikaai India Research Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Researcher (Environment) to conduct an evaluation study in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. The evaluation focuses on impacts of mangrove restoration and water security in the Sundarbans through community-led interventions.

2. Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct field surveys, direct observations, and qualitative data collection (KIIs & FGDs).
• Assess the impact of mangrove plantation on climate resilience and biodiversity conservation.
• Evaluate the functionality and accessibility of installed tubewells.
• Engage with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and community members to measure their participation and empowerment.
• Utilize GIS-based and remote sensing monitoring for mangrove growth assessment (preferred).
• Review project records, reports, and financial documents.

3. Eligibility Criteria:
• Master’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Ecology, Climate Change, or related fields.
• Prior experience in environmental research, project evaluation, and participatory methodologies.
• Experience working with SHGs and community-based initiatives. (Preferred)
• Proficiency in Bengali (Mandatory).
• Willingness to travel to Sundarbans for field data collection.

Remuneration: To be discussed based on experience and qualifications.
