Renewable Engineer (Solar PV)

Connect Energy 2 is seeking a Renewable Engineer (Solar PV) in Singapore. Responsibilities include designing and reviewing solar energy systems, performing simulations, creating electrical diagrams, and supporting project execution. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with local codes and software like PVSyst and HOMER is advantageous. The position requires strong communication skills and a willingness to work on-site.

Responsibilities


Undertake design and configuration of PV and other renewable energy systemsReview/Check System Designs of Rooftop, ground-mounted and Floating Solar system, which includes equipment (panel, inverter, mounting system, cables, associated electrical system transformer, LV/MV switchgears, etc) sizing, selection and evaluation, with consideration of space for CAPEX, efficiency, maintenance and operation.Perform and/or check/review computer simulation (PVSyst) of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation system performance or energy production to optimize generation and efficiency.Undertake and check/review electrical AC/DC cable sizingCreate and/or check and review electrical single-line diagrams, system designs, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for solar electric systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software.Develop design specifications and functional requirements for residential, commercial, or industrial solar energy systems or components.Support in tendering processes such as calling of quotations, discussion with contractors/vendors and the evaluation of tender submissionsSupport in project execution and commissioning activities such as preparing and monitoring project schedule, controlling communication and project document flow to meet deadlines, supervise contractors work on site and attend meetings with clients and other stakeholders

Requirements


Bachelor degree (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from a University recognized by PEB (Singapore)Required experience:Min 4 years of Experience in the design of Electrical System or Solar PV system design & engineering for rooftop, ground mounted and floating PV system.Experience in the design and application of the BESS with PV generation, complying with applicable local codes & standards will be an advantageExperience and familiar with EMA and SPPG requirements on Power generation, transmission, connectivity and System design requirements. Familiar with the EMA and SPPG consultation processes and application, will be an advantageExperience and familiar with HOMER, ETAP softwares, will be an advantage.Familiar with SCDF code requirements for PV system.Strong writing skills, verbal communication skills and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical skills and ability to be an independent problem solverTeam player and ability to work with and manage clients and stakeholders.Highly motivated and enthusiasticCandidates must be self motivated with passion and curiosity for learning and advancing his/her careerWilling to work at western part of Singapore
