Job Description

Fiber @ Home Ltd. is seeking an Engineer/Sr. Engineer for Solar Survey & Design in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Candidates should have a BSc in Civil Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in Solar PV projects. Responsibilities include managing solar site surveys, preparing AutoCAD drawings, and coordinating with stakeholders. Knowledge of net metering guidelines and experience in solar design software are preferred. This is a full-time position.

Additional Requirements




Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Solar PV projects, including rooftop and commercial & industrial (C&I) solar installations.
Minimum 2 years of direct experience in rooftop solar survey, rooftop feasibility assessment, and preliminary solar engineering design.
Professional training/certification in Solar PV Design, AutoCAD, PVsyst, SketchUp, HelioScope, or equivalent solar engineering software will be considered an added advantage.
Knowledge of Bangladesh Net Metering Guidelines, rooftop solar standards, and utility interconnection requirements will be preferred.
Proven experience in preparing AutoCAD drawings and rooftop layouts based on field survey data.
Experience in net-metering projects, LT/MDB/DB assessment, inverter placement planning, cable routing, rooftop mounting layouts, and shading analysis will be highly preferred.
Experience in preparing survey reports, site assessment reports, and engineering documentation for solar projects will be considered an advantage.
Experience in drone-based rooftop survey, orthomosaic mapping, aerial site assessment, or GIS-based rooftop analysis will be considered an added advantage.






Responsibilities & Context




1. Solar Site Survey Management

Lead rooftop and ground-mounted solar site surveys.
Plan and coordinate survey schedules and activities.
Verify survey data collected by surveyors.
Conduct technical feasibility assessments for rooftop solar installations.
Assess rooftop conditions, structural suitability, shading impact, and installation constraints.
Evaluate available installation area and identify potential risks.
Identify potential technical constraints, safety risks, and implementation challenges during site surveys and recommend mitigation measures.

2. Engineering & Design Support

Prepare and update AutoCAD drawings based on field survey data.
Develop rooftop layouts and preliminary PV module arrangements.
Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), equipment layouts, and engineering sketches.
Support preparation of preliminary system sizing and conceptual designs.
Conduct preliminary rooftop capacity estimation and support preparation of project BoQ and engineering inputs for proposal development.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project implementation teams.

3. Technical Documentation

Prepare survey reports and technical assessment reports.
Maintain survey databases and site documentation.
Review technical drawings and engineering documents.
Ensure survey information accuracy and completeness.

4. Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate with DESCO, clients, building owners, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Facilitate site access and survey approvals.
Support project development and proposal preparation activities.
