Thorstad Companies is seeking a Renewable Energy Construction Field Coordinator in Alexandria, MN. Responsibilities




Provide pre-construction support



Support the submittal and RFI processes for specific definable features of work utilizing Procore.
Review, understand and help manage project design and engineering documents, ensuring compliance, organization and distribution to necessary parties
Perform project specific tasks in preparation of the team mobilizing to site
Assist with research on living arrangements for project team members
Prepare turnover binder templates
Assist with the preparation of Pre-Mobilization Kickoff meetings
Compile, contact, and arrange for short form subcontracts with local entities at the project site (Power, trailers, housing, local subcontractors, etc.)
Assist in drafting subcontracts and purchase agreements

Lead designated aspects necessary for construction support



Assist with the quality assurance & quality control process as delineated in the Project Quality Plan, including coordinating prep meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, punch list final inspections
Assist with the inventory process as materials arrive to site: inspection, offload, receiving, and storage
Assist Project Manager and Project Superintendents as needed regarding material and equipment management (pickup trucks, rented/owned equipment, coordinate the equipment facility)
Manage production logs for work put in place (self-performed or subcontracted)
Track Safety or Quality incidents
Administer closeout processes
Compile turnover documentation and transfer to customer per the project specific quality plan
Assist Project Manager with getting contract documents closed out with subcontractors and suppliers
Support the final inspections and punch list process
Provide periodic updates of the submittal register to the customer or architect

Other duties as assigned, including:



Participate in project safety audits and company Safety Program
Establish alternative work methods as needed
Maintain schedule of timelines and follow through until completion
Help with daily POD including updating production and quantity tracking






Required qualifications



2 years experience in construction field. Preferably renewable energy construction
Associate degree in construction related field
Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external constituencies from varied and diverse backgrounds
Must demonstrate emotional intelligence; being aware of the motions of self and others
Strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, and problem solving skills
Detail orientated with the ability and organization to manage multiple projects and tasks
Current driver's license
Must be able to speak and understand English
