Burns & McDonnell’s Southwest region is seeking a self-motivated, senior-level environmental remediation Project Manager to join its team of talented and successful environmental professionals. The Remediation Project Manager will lead project teams serving a portfolio of well-established clients and projects in multiple market sectors. Leadership responsibilities will include project management, technical leadership, and client relationship development and maintenance.

The successful candidate should possess a diverse investigation and remedial design background, project/program management skills, and regulatory knowledge (RCRA/CERCLA and state-specific requirements for site investigation, remediation, and closure). Significant experience with various remedial technologies is desired to optimize site closure. Experience in successful execution of subsurface and sediment investigations, including development of conceptual models is a plus. Existing client relationships are a plus. Travel is required and professional registration (PE or PG, LEP (CT), LSP (MA) and/or LSRP (NJ)) is preferred.
• Responsible for preparing scopes of work, cost estimates and proposals for small and large investigation/remediation major projects.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members and coordinate departmental project studies, reports or project design assignments.
• Project implementation, QA/QC, project scheduling and budget management.
• Some marketing and business development responsibilities will be required and regular meetings and correspondence with clients, agencies, subcontractors, or outside personnel will be required.
• Lead preparation of work plans, investigation reports, feasibility studies, remedial design and implementation for both federal and state lead programs.
• Experience or understanding of data management tools and visualization models or technologies.
• Manage technical aspects of investigation and remediation projects, potentially including design-build or Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) approaches to remedial construction.
• Manage individual projects and supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Participate in business planning and business development efforts to support the growth of the Wallingford-based environmental practice across the Northeast.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 7 years of related professional experience investigating and remediating environmental sites experience. 15 years of experience preferred.
• Project management experience is required.
• Strong understanding and current knowledge of applicable remediation technologies and techniques.
• Report, design, and bid package preparation experience.
• Mining experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage technical projects and lead remediation design efforts.
• Ability to work within a team framework. Self-motivation and the ability to multi-task (write reports, analyze data, perform design tasks, etc.) are also a prerequisite.
• Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of project-related matters.
