Job Description
Sandia Inc is offering a full-time internship in Research and Development for Climate Security in Albuquerque, NM. Graduate students in climate science will work on projects related to climate change, infrastructure resiliency, and energy systems. Responsibilities include developing technical solutions and collaborating with diverse researchers. Candidates must have a relevant bachelor's degree, be enrolled in a graduate program, and be U.S. citizens due to security clearance requirements.

This internship provides a unique chance for graduate students in climate science to apply their skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work on challenging projects related to climate change assessment, global-scale situational awareness, subsurface characterization, infrastructure resiliency, and fossil/renewable energy systems.
• Assist in the development of technical solutions to emergent challenges impacting the United States' global security posture.
• Collaborate with researchers from diverse backgrounds to cultivate broad and agile teams of subject matter experts.
• Contribute to the acceleration of innovation while delivering impactful technical solutions to partners in National Nuclear Security Administration, Department of Energy.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Earned bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mathematics, physics, earth sciences, computer science).
• Currently attending and enrolled full-time in an accredited graduate program in a relevant field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• U.S. citizenship required due to DOE security clearance.
