Job Description

Green Infrastructure Partners is seeking a Project Superintendent in Markham, ON. The role involves supervising, planning, executing, and monitoring projects, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and managing project documentation and costs. Candidates should have a diploma in civil engineering or construction management and at least 5 years of supervisory experience in heavy civil construction. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. This position requires on-site presence and may involve night/weekend work.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Superintendent has the overall responsibility for the supervision, planning, execution and monitoring of the assigned project.

Primary Scope of Role.
• Procurement on a daily basis all aspects of a project daily diary – written and photographic
• Review and approve timesheets
• Participate in job close-out
• Ensure quality measures are met
• Promote and enforce company health and safety policies with employees, subcontractors, and suppliers

Specific Duties
• Participate in Daily Huddles and weekly Tailgate Safety Meetings
• Conduct accident investigations and prepare documentation
• Provide Contract Administrator with summary for invoicing (month-end, project completion) including contract work and extra work
• Participate in weekly and monthly job cost reviews including review of cost variance and profit/loss reports; resolve revenue and cost issues.
• Participate in pre-job planning
• Effectively plan the short-term and long-term schedules for all aspects of a project (subcontractors, internal work)
• Understand and comply with the bid estimate, project schedule, and project specifications in order to adequately instruct the foremen and subcontractors in the performance of the work

Position Requirements
• Diploma in a civil engineering technology/construction management program is an asset
• Minimum 5 years of supervisor experience on heavy civil construction projects.
• Experience in managing all aspects of road building and civil infrastructure projects.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
• Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced environment.
• Effective decision-making, problem-solving skills, time management and prioritization skills.
• A valid G driver's license is required.
• Willing to work nights/ weekends when scheduled.
• Outcome-focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.
• Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.
