Construction Inspector – Green Infrastructure Project

Salimi Construction Management is hiring a Construction Inspector for a Green Infrastructure Project in San Francisco, CA. The role involves full-time on-site inspection of green infrastructure and accessibility improvements related to stormwater management. Work Scope Description
Provide full-time or as-needed construction inspection services for green infrastructure and accessibility improvements related to stormwater management in Parks and adjacent public rights-of-way. Services include oversight of Low Impact Development (LID) installations and ADA-compliant improvements in accordance with approved plans, permits, and applicable City and State regulations. The Inspector will serve as the Owner’s on-site representative.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct daily inspections of green infrastructure, including bioretention systems, permeable pavement, green streets elements, underground drainage, and ADA-compliant facilities.
Verify compliance with plans, specifications, SWPPP requirements, and regulatory standards.
Confirm proper installation of LID components, erosion control, and sediment management measures.
Maintain inspection documentation, including daily reports, photo logs, quantities, NCRs, and as-built markups.
Coordinate with the Resident Engineer, contractors, utilities, City staff, and the public as needed.
Inspect traffic control, pedestrian detours, and site safety practices.
Witness material testing and verify compliance with approved submittals.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5–10 years of public works construction inspection experience, preferably on urban streetscape and green infrastructure projects.
Experience with LID systems, stormwater BMPs, erosion control, and urban drainage infrastructure.
Working knowledge of SF Public Works, Caltrans standards (as applicable), CASQA guidelines, SWPPP requirements, ADA, and California Title 24.
Relevant certifications (NICET, ICC, QSP/QSD, ADA training) preferred.
Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills; ability to work independently in the field.
Valid California Driver’s License.
