Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

RK&K is seeking a self-motivated Project Manager for Water/Wastewater projects in Keyser, WV. The role involves leading municipal engineering assignments, managing project deliverables, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, a P.E. license, and at least 10 years of relevant experience. The position allows for remote work while focusing on municipal clients in Southern West Virginia.
With a strong, diverse, and exciting backlog of municipal engineering assignments, RK&K is looking for self-motivated and highly collaborative Project Manager to lead a variety of municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects involving feasibility studies, engineering design, preparation of construction documents, and construction management. As a Project Manager in our Water/Wastewater group, you will have an opportunity to deliver complex and rewarding projects while marketing municipal clients in Southern West Virginia as a remote worker from our practice in Keyser, WV.


Essential Functions



Develop project deliverables including coordination of engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative team environment
Solve complex problems, providing technical evaluation, and evaluate costs and benefits of alternative solutions for water/wastewater clients
Mentor and develop less experienced/junior engineering professionals, establishing growth opportunities and building project delivery teams
Manage a variety of existing and potential water/wastewater facility projects
Manage and deliver world class results on municipal projects such as conveyance, sewage collection, stormwater management, water rehabilitation projects and much more
Negotiate and manage project scopes of work, schedules and budgets for water/wastewater projects
Routinely utilize internal systems for project management, quality control, and quality assurance
Interface with clients, state and federal agencies and subconsultants to pursue, win and execute water/wastewater projects
Identify and create project opportunities by networking with potential clients, including public and private utilities and related agencies
Support office and firm leadership in marketing and pursuit of new work leads focusing primarily on water/wastewater municipal clients

Required Skills and Experience



Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related engineering field
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in consulting engineering in the municipal Water/Wastewater industry, with a progression of responsibility including project delivery and business development
Existing municipal/private engineering client relationships and/or the ability to develop and nurture such relationships
Motivated to find creative solutions to civil engineering problems
Proficiency in communicating technical information
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Preferred Skills and Experience



Advanced degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field
Project Management Professional Certification
Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM
