Mortenson is seeking a Project Buyer I for Energy Storage in Duluth, MN. SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Buyer I Energy Storagethat will develop relationships with suppliers, solicit bids, analyze quotations, and select suppliers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factorsCreate and maintain catalogs for each operating group or project that is supportedPropose purchase transactions that higher authority approve prior to final actionArrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliersQuoting/Supplier Selection (Cost and schedule competitive)Align buyout with budget (Supplier relations)Manage procurement risksDriving contract executionAgreements executed prior to any lead time constraintsException RequestsDocument ControlCorrect terms and conditionsManage Agreements (Supplier relations)Ensure schedule is met (Supplier relations)Design, schedule, cost impactsSupplier callsTrack order status from the time of placing the order until delivery and communicate status to project teamsEnter purchase orders and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basisVisit job sites or offices quarterly at a minimum to develop more effective working relationshipsEffectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsAll other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or related discipline or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experienceKnowledge of construction processes, equipment, and materials, purchasing processes, and procedures (preferred)Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal, and communication skillsStrong customer service and analytical skillsActive listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedbackSoftware experienceCurrent driver's licenseA few benefits offered include:

The base pay range for this roleis $68,700 - $92,800. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR 10%, Washington, D.C. 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individuals knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
