Programme Manager Climate Change

Osborne Richardson is seeking a Programme Manager for Climate Change to lead a local authority's Carbon Reduction Plan in the Midlands. The role involves coordinating programme work streams, managing commissioning activities, and addressing performance issues. Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and extensive experience in local government and programme management within a political context. The contract offers up to £400/day for an initial three-month period.
Osborne Richardson have an excellent opportunity for a Programme Manager to join a local Authority in the Midlands and take the lead on the Council's Carbon Reduction Plan and Environment and Climate Change Framework. You will be responsible for coordinating identified Programme work streams, supporting the delivery of short, medium and long term priorities set out within these programmes.

You will manage a portfolio of commissioning activity across the Programme, analysing performance, querying variances from plans or targets, raising performance issues and pursuing actions to recover performance. You will also be required to work with members of the Governance Boards to embed the Council's Carbon Reduction Plan and principles, identifying and addressing strategic issues affecting the delivery of climate change action.

The successful candidate will need a relevant degree level qualification and have detailed knowledge and understanding of environmental sustainability and climate change issues. It is essential that you have significant experience in local government and proven experience of successful programme/project management within in a political environment

The rate offered is up to £400/day (inside IR35) and this role will initially be offered as a 3 month contract. For more information please get in touch.
