International Paper is hiring a Production Associate for their Woodyard in Prattville, AL, offering an entry-level pay of $23.49/hr with opportunities for overtime and advancement. After certification, wages can rise to a minimum of $24.04/hr. The role requires operating heavy equipment in an industrial environment, adhering to safety protocols, and working rotating shifts. Position Title: Production Associate: Woodyard Pay Rate : Production Associates will start at an entry level hourly rate of $23.49/hr. with opportunities for overtime. Following successful completion of certification, associates can expect to make a minimum of $24.04/hr. After an initial onboarding period, the new hire will immediately begin a state-of-the-art training and certification program to allow potential rapid advancement to higher position and increased wages. Average annual earning potential within the first year is $50,000+ , the future is bright for our top operators who earn more than $39/hr. Eligible for employment in the US. Minimum high school graduate, GED equivalent or equivalent work experience of 2 years. Must be willing to meet the following requirements: Operate or work in industrial conditions (the environment will be loud, warm/hot, and dusty/dirty. Employees work around hazardous chemicals, heavy machinery and elevated working surfaces. The work includes repetitive motions (all employees receive proper safety training and safety protection). Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment. Undergo a job-related health assessment as a condition of employment. Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment. Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule. Work overtime on a regular basis and with last-minute notification. Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis. Wear required safety equipment. The Job You Will Perform: Safely operate heavy equipment such as front end loaders, skid steers, dozers, and other log handling equipment. Work as a team to successfully change chipper knives and chip logs that will provide chips to feed digesters. Work in an outdoor environment every day regardless of weather. Safely operate chainsaws and pole saws and as a team, replace large diameter saws on the saw deck. Safely operate cranes and unload log trucks. Safely operate dumps to unload chip trucks. You will start in an entry-level position and perform general physical activities. Job functions may involve physical, technical, and mechanical ability in order to perform the following duties: Climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials Monitoring, adjusting, and controlling operating equipment Conducting tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance Involves working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
