Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Lead who will be responsible for developing and executing the company's procurement strategy for raw materials (primarily post-consumer PET bottles), equipment, supplies, and services. This role involves sourcing, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, ensuring quality, and mitigating risks within the supply chain.
The Procurement
Lead will play a critical role in securing a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials essential for the company's recycling operations and contributing to sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company's operational and sustainability objectives.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for PET bottles, equipment, consumables, and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and ethical sourcing practices.
Lead the negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements and build strong, long-term relationships.
Manage and monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
Implement and maintain efficient procurement processes, including purchase order generation, tracking, and invoice reconciliation.
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the supply chain for PET recycling and related materials.
Collaborate with other departments (Operations, Finance, Sustainability) to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment.
Develop and maintain a robust supplier database and evaluation system.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering opportunities within the procurement function.
Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement regulations and internal policies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, ISM) is highly preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in procurement, preferably within a manufacturing or recycling industry.
Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law, and negotiation techniques.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Ability to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies and negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers.
Supplier Relationship Management: Skill in building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers.
Market Analysis & Forecasting: Ability to analyze market trends, assess risks, and forecast material availability and pricing.
Cost Management & Value Engineering: Proven ability to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize procurement value.
Ethical & Sustainable Procurement: Commitment to ethical sourcing practices and the ability to integrate sustainability considerations into procurement decisions.
KPI:
Cost Savings on Raw Materials: Achieve a 10% reduction in the average cost of procuring materials within the fiscal year
Supplier Performance Rating: Achieve an average supplier performance rating of 70% based on agreed-upon quality, delivery, and service metrics within the next 12 months.
Lead Time Reduction: Reduce the average lead time for critical equipment and spare parts procurement by 20% within the fiscal year.
Sustainable Sourcing Percentage: Increase the percentage of suppliers adhering to the company's sustainability guidelines and ethical sourcing practices to 30% by the end of the next fiscal year.
Contract Compliance Rate: Maintain a 100% compliance rate with negotiated contract terms and conditions across all key supplier agreements.
