The Line Apprentice position supports the operations process in providing and maintaining service to new and existing customers by learning a working knowledge of computer systems, tools, equipment, and materials. Employees will learn the day-to-day operations and specifications of the distribution system. In addition to normal work, employees must be available to be on-call, work all hours as needed (day or night, weekends or holidays) for planned outages or emergency situations, and perform all duties in a safe manner, adhering to all Company safety rules and procedures. The hourly pay rate is $28.42. This posting is for multiple Operation Centers, and candidates will be able to select their preferred and second choice work locations, though locations are subject to change based on business need.

Responsibilities

Installs and repairs electrical equipment such as street lighting and load control devices.Constructs overhead and underground distribution lines based on engineering specifications, including setting poles, pulling cable, setting transformers, etc.Installs equipment such as transformers, capacitors, regulators, load control devices, meters, street lights, safe lights, etc.Maintains and repairs equipment; also performs preventative maintenance using test equipment such as volt and amp meters to measure the performance of equipment.Responds to trouble calls when equipment fails and/or electrical service is interrupted.Supports the company’s goals and represents the company positively and professionally.Requirements
