Principal Consultant (Energy Modeller) – ClimateTech
Location: Remote-first (with optional office access in Cambridge or London)
Salary: Competitive + benefits
About the Company:
We’re an award-winning ClimateTech startup helping cities, utilities, and developers plan for a net-zero future. Our cutting-edge software links digital twins across buildings, energy, and transport — enabling smarter, data-driven investment decisions for the power grid.

We’re a fast-growing team with a culture of ownership, innovation, and rapid progression — the kind of place where you can make a tangible impact and shape your own career path.
The Role:
We’re looking for an analytical and driven Principal Consultant (Energy Modeller) to join our Product Team. You’ll work closely with clients, users, and internal teams to design and deliver advanced energy modelling and optimisation solutions that power our software platform.
This role blends technical modelling, product development, and strategic consulting — ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, data, and real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gather and interpret user requirements from utilities, local authorities, and developers
• Design, test, and refine optimisation algorithms for energy modelling and forecasting
• Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to integrate models into live products
• Conduct research on emerging industry trends and modelling techniques
• Produce clear, high-quality documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
Skills & Experience:
Essential
• Degree in a numerate or quantitative discipline (e.g. Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Maths)
• 1–3 years of relevant professional experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with energy systems, scenario modelling, or forecasting tools
• Experience leading small teams or managing projects
• Awareness of product management or Agile software development processes
Why Join Us
• Join a fast-growing ClimateTech startup shaping the UK’s net-zero transition
• Work on cutting-edge modelling challenges with real-world impact
• Remote-first culture with flexibility and autonomy
• Opportunities for rapid career progression and leadership
