JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Park Ranger, GS-0025-4, working in Newbury, Massachusetts for the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. This is a temporary position expected to last 6 months (1039 hours) with a full-time schedule. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Park Ranger, your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Conduct on-site environmental education programs in a specialized setting Staff an information desk to assist visitors, distribute information and answer questions. Explains regulations to visitors and provides information and advice on approved activities and on the refuge's or natural resource organization cultural, historical, and/or natural resources history and location. Prepares information for social media posts that are factual, engages the public and further promotes the Refuge's or natural resource organization purpose. Obtains and posts information to records, such as number of visitors, survey information, on length of visitor stay, size of visiting parties, and patterns of visitor use.
