Job DescriptionShift: 1st
Schedule: 6 AM to 6 PM. 12-hour rotating shift schedule
Pay rate: $18.00/hr (commensurate with experience)
This role supports Liquibox with Sealed Air as part of the Lester Prairie Team, helping deliver innovative packaging solutions to customers across the region. Join our dynamic manufacturing team as an Assembly Technician where you'll leverage your technical expertise to maintain critical production equipment, train team members, and drive operational excellence. As an Assembly Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining production efficiency, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met. This position combines technical skills with leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Champion workplace safety by following established protocols and proactively identifying potential hazardsCollaborate with quality teams to ensure all products meet or exceed customer specificationsDiagnose, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on assembly equipment including:Air system adjustments and fitting replacementsSensor calibration and optimizationPallet index jam resolutionAlarm troubleshooting and system resetsGripper and pin replacementTrain and mentor assembly operators on safety protocols, operational best practices, and quality standardsDevelop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and production outputMaintain equipment health checks and preventative maintenance schedulesEnsure adequate inventory of maintenance parts and componentsDocument and report daily production metrics to managementPrioritize production tasks based on shipping requirements and deadlinesOperate assembly machinery including boxing, labeling, and palletizing equipmentMaintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
QualificationsRequired
High School Diploma or GED equivalent2+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environmentsDemonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsExperience with industrial equipment maintenance and repairStrong organizational abilities and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMathematical aptitude for production calculations and measurementsPhysical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand/walk during 12-hour shiftsProficiency in operating manual and electric pallet jacks
Preferred Skills & Experience
Technical certification in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or a related fieldExperience with pneumatic systems and controlsKnowledge of lean manufacturing principlesExperience training or mentoring team membersFamiliarity with production scheduling and inventory management

Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing facility with exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise levels, and standard industrial conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
