In this critical position, you will be responsible for developing and scrutinizing engineering calculations pertaining to energy consumption and savings, applying your expertise across varying levels of complexity. Your role will involve hands-on fieldwork to assess existing systems, evaluate potential replacements, and uncover energy-saving opportunities within building environments.




As a subject matter expert in HVAC, lighting systems, and renewable energy technologies, you will utilize proven methodologies to estimate energy usage and savings. Your contributions are essential for producing high-quality deliverables and achieving outstanding project results.




Alongside technical responsibilities, you will engage frequently with clients and on-site teams, upholding the company’s reputation through professionalism and clarity in communication. You will also have the opportunity to lead and mentor Engineers and Project Engineers, providing crucial support and guidance to ensure successful project execution. This position operates under the guidance of an Engineering Manager or higher, with pathways for increased responsibilities and leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and assess engineering calculations to determine energy usage and savings from basic to complex scenarios.Analyze how energy use is influenced by various independent factors.Utilize advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, lighting technologies, and control strategies to evaluate building performance and spot energy efficiency enhancements.Lead energy audits, field assessments, and verification tasks to support project advancement.Conduct quality control checks on engineering analyses, reports, and deliverables created by junior team members.Guide and mentor Engineers and Project Engineers in their technical work and project management.Maintain regular communication with clients, staff, and leadership to gather insights, present findings, and demonstrate technical expertise.Foster continuous improvement in internal tools, methodologies, and workflows to enhance analytical quality and operational efficiency.

What You Need

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, CEM) is preferred.A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in energy engineering, building systems, or related domains.Strong grasp of energy consumption drivers and the ability to evaluate correlations between energy use and independent variables.Proven expertise in engineering principles, building systems (HVAC, lighting, controls), and energy savings calculations.Demonstrated capability to lead technical assignments, manage project tasks, and mentor junior team members.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting technical findings to clients and stakeholders.Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, capable of juggling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with energy modeling tools, scripting, or data analysis software is a plus.Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Proactive approach and dedication to continuous learning and process enhancement.
