Job Overview


 


We are seeking a passionate and experienced Field Biologist to join our team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in implementing conservation projects, conducting field research, and contributing to the success of our mission.


 


Responsibilities:


 


* Conduct field surveys and research on a variety of wildlife species and habitats.


* Collect and analyze ecological data, including population estimates, distribution maps, and habitat use patterns.


* Assist in the development and implementation of conservation plans, including habitat restoration, anti-poaching initiatives, and community engagement programs.


* Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to promote conservation awareness and sustainable practices.


* Prepare reports, presentations, and scientific publications.


* Contribute to the overall success of WWF-India’s conservation programs.


 


Qualifications:


 


* Master’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Zoology, Ecology, or a related field.


* Minimum 3 years of field experience in wildlife conservation or research.


* Strong understanding of ecological principles and methodologies.


* Proven ability to collect, analyze, and interpret ecological data.


* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.


* Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, SPSS).


* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.


* Willingness to work in remote and challenging field conditions.
