Job Description
Building Ventures is seeking a Field Technician in Edison, NJ to enhance residential energy performance through air sealing and duct sealing. Responsibilities include installation, testing, and ensuring compliance with energy standards on construction sites. Summary
Aeroseal is looking for a Field Technician, in the Edison, NJ area that will assist us in our mission by improving residential energy performance through air sealing, duct sealing, and diagnostic testing support. This position works directly on active construction sites to help builders meet energy code requirements, pass inspections, and achieve HERS ratings.
Qualifications/Requirements
Construction, insulation, or HVAC experience preferred Basic understanding of building science and energy efficiency Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding conditions Strong attention to detail and quality of work Ability to work independently and within a team Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
Performance Expectations
Achieve required blower door and duct leakage targets Minimize rework and failed inspections Maintain productivity and meet builder schedules Deliver consistent, high-quality installation and testing support
Responsibilities
Perform air sealing installation including caulking, foaming, weatherstripping, and sealing building envelope penetrations Execute or assist with duct sealing activities on HVAC systems Support or perform blower door testing and duct leakage testing Identify air leakage and insulation deficiencies in the building envelope Work with builders and site supervisors to address performance issues Ensure compliance with IECC, ENERGY STAR, and HERS program requirements Document completed work, job conditions, and test results Maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite cleanliness
Tools & Work Environment
Blower door and duct testing equipment Foam guns, caulking tools, and sealing materials Ladders, attics, crawlspaces, and unfinished construction sites Active residential construction environments
Experience You'll Need To Do It
High school diploma or GED - New graduates welcomed and encouraged to apply!Valid driver's licenseDue to the nature of federal and government contracts, candidate must be able to pass a background check, including drug screening, prior to hire.

Compensation / Benefits
This position comes with a chance and expectation for you to further your understanding of building science, and the opportunity to grow within the organization. No experience is necessary, but history in the following areas of work have proven to be beneficial: HVAC technician, electrician, woodworking, carpenter, military, farm labor and farming, painter, coatings applicator, contractor, blower door testing, energy rater, HERS, BPI and general construction.
