Environmental Technician

MPS Group, Inc. is hiring Environmental Technicians for the 3rd shift at their Kansas City Assembly Plant. Responsibilities include handling solid and hazardous waste, loading waste for disposal, performing equipment inspections, and assisting with spill responses. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and one year of waste management experience. The job requires passing a background check and drug test.
MPS Group, Inc., is seeking multiple Environmental Technicians on the 3rd shift to join our team at the Kansas City Assembly Plant located in Kansas City, MO. These individuals will be responsible for handling solid and hazardous waste at the plant.

Typical Job Hours: Friday, Saturday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Monday, 6 p.m. - 4:30 a.m.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:
• Collect trash, recyclables, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal.
• Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center, and any other disposal streams.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use.
• Assist supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal.
• Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization.
• Document and inform Resource Manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling and waste containers.
• Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
• Operate fork truck to load/unload trucks.
• Operate Burden carriers.
• Follow all plant- related safety guidelines.
• Sort and bale recyclable material.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• One-year experience in waste management.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
