Job Description

Community Memorial Healthcare is hiring an Environmental Services Technician I (Housekeeping) in Ojai, CA. This full-time role involves cleaning and disinfecting hospital areas, handling biohazardous waste, and maintaining supplies. The salary ranges from $21.00 to $28.49 per hour, depending on experience. Applicants should have English proficiency and preferably a high school diploma and previous housekeeping experience. This position requires in-person work at the hospital.
Compensation
Salary Range: $21.00 - $28.49 per hour





The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Responsibilities
EVS Tech (Housekeeping) - Full-Time 8-Hour Variable Shift Position Available





Position Overview:


Cleans/disinfects hospital patient rooms, surgical area, procedural areas, bath, laboratories, offices, halls, and other areas. Maintains supplies and orders necessary equipment as appropriate. Observes proper handling and disposal of biohazardous waste.





EVS TECH COVID-19 JOB RESPONSIBILITY NOTICE


An essential daily job responsibility of an EVS Tech will be the cleaning of patient rooms for the hospital, including the possibility of cleaning COVID-19 patient rooms and/or possible contact with COVID-19.


As CMHS takes employee health and safety seriously, CMHS EVS Department will provide Personal Protective Equipment - PPE (mask, gloves, etc.) along with education and training for all EVS Techs to keep hospital employees and patients, as well as the community safe.


Qualifications
Required:



Ability to speak, read and write documents in English
Ability to understand (SDS) Safety Data Sheets, pertaining to use and handling of chemicals
Ability to interact with patients, other customers, co-workers and physicians in a courteous and service oriented manner

Preferred:



High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Previous housekeeping, janitorial or related experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish
