Environmental Services (EVS) Technician Pride Health is hiring an Environmental Services (EVS) Technician to support one of our healthcare clients in Edmond, OK. This is a 13-week contract opportunity with the possibility of extension, offering competitive pay and benefits. Location: Edmond, OK Job Type: Contract (Part-Time) Contract Length: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Schedule: Every weekend and one weekday (24 hours/week) Pay Rate: $15/hour (W2) Job Summary The Environmental Services (EVS) Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary hospital environment. This role supports infection prevention by cleaning and disinfecting patient care areas, operating rooms, common spaces, and other assigned areas while following hospital safety and infection control standards. Key Responsibilities Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, waiting areas, offices, and other assigned hospital areas. Follow infection prevention, isolation, and terminal cleaning protocols. Empty trash and biohazard waste containers and replace liners. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces. Restock housekeeping supplies and maintain cleaning equipment. Respond promptly to room turnover requests for new patient admissions. Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals according to hospital policies. Report maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns. Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and hospital safety guidelines. Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors, and staff. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hospital EVS experience preferred but not required. Knowledge of infection prevention and terminal cleaning procedures is a plus. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift 35–50 lbs. Ability to push and pull cleaning carts and equipment. Comfortable working around cleaning chemicals and bodily fluids while wearing appropriate PPE.
