Environmental Restoration Specialist

McCloud Aquatics is hiring an Environmental Restoration Specialist in Elburn, IL. McCloud Aquatics is seeking an experienced Environmental Restoration Specialist to join our team. We manage and restore local lakes and ponds, providing sustainable solutions to water quality challenges. We are looking for a dedicated individual passionate about environmental stewardship to help us further grow our rapidly increasing shoreline management program.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement environmental restoration practices, including prescribed fires, stewardship, and restoration
• Identify and manage native plant species
• Regularly use chemical treatments for ecological maintenance
• Collaborate with a team to develop restoration strategies
• Participate in the management and treatment of lakes, ponds, and wetlands

Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of field experience in environmental restoration in the Greater Chicagoland Area ecosystems
• Successful completion of at least 10 prescribed fires
• Proficient in native plant identification
• Willingness to regularly apply chemical treatments in restoration efforts
• Strong understanding of ecological principles and restoration techniques
• Effective communication skillset
• Ability to get licensed through the Department of Agriculture, for the state of ILLINOIS.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience working with aquatic ecosystems
• Certification in chemical use for environmental management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 50 per week
