Job Title: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist IV Job Duration: 9+ Months Est. Pay Range $50 -55/hr. On T4 Location La Prairie, QC J5R 2E5
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Scope of Work for EHS Consultant

Key Responsibilities

A. Framework Integration
• Assessment of Current Framework Gaps:
• Conduct a thorough review of the existing safety management framework and existing gaps.
• Identify gaps and areas for improvement and assign ownership.
• Implement the updated framework across all relevant departments.

B. Policy Development
• Review Existing Policies:
• Evaluate current EHS policies for effectiveness and compliance with the framework.
• Policy Creation:
• Develop new EHS policies where gaps are identified.
• Update existing policies to align with the framework and best practices.
• Documentation:
• Ensure all policies are well-documented and easily accessible to employees.

C. Risk Assessments
• Identify Hazards:
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
• Risk Evaluation:
• Evaluate the likelihood and impact of identified risks.
• Mitigation Strategies:
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Monitor the effectiveness of mitigation strategies over time.

D. Machine Assessments
• Machine Safety Review:
• Assess all machinery for compliance with safety standards.
• Identify any machinery that poses a safety risk.
• Recommendations:
• Provide recommendations for modifications or additional safety measures for non-compliant machinery.
• Implementation Support:
• Support the implementation of recommended safety measures.

E. LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) Procedures
• Current Practice Review:
• Review existing LOTO procedures for effectiveness and compliance with the framework.
• Procedure Development:
• Develop comprehensive LOTO procedures where they are lacking.
• Update existing procedures to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and align with the framework.
• Training:
• Train employees on the new or updated LOTO procedures.

F. Compliance Calendar Creation
• Regulatory Research:
• Research all local and provincial regulations relevant to EHS.
• Calendar Development:
• Create a compliance calendar that outlines key compliance dates and actions required.
• Ongoing Maintenance:
• Regularly update the compliance calendar to reflect changes in regulations or organizational practices.

3. Deliverables
• Comprehensive assessment report of the current framework.
• Enhanced framework design document.
• New and updated EHS policies.
• Completed risk assessments and mitigation plans.
• Machine assessment reports and recommendations.
• Developed or updated LOTO procedures.
• Compliance calendar.
5. Reporting
• Monthly progress reports to stakeholders.
• Final comprehensive report at the end of the project.
