If so, we are looking for you! The Integrated Resource Planning Team is seeking an Energy Planning Data Analyst to provide program oversight and policy/technical analysis to support the state’s resource and infrastructure planning efforts, including providing a team lead role in the Integrated Resource Planning process. This is a position where you will be contributing to solving some of the most important challenges facing California in regard to climate change and energy planning. Due to the complexity, statewide impact, monetary scope, and level of policy development involved, projects assigned to this position will be subject to close attention from Commissioners, Administrative Law Judges, and executive management. This may also include interaction with the media, the Legislature, and other agencies.Under general direction of the Project and Program Supervisor, the Energy Planning Data Analyst will advise and assist high-level decision-makers such as Commissioners, Judges, and Energy Division management. The Analyst may act as a team leader and will prepare written reports and analyses on economic, policy and/or technical issues related to the state's integrated resource planning programs.Specifically, the Energy Planning Data Analyst's duties and responsibilities may include:Conduct research and technical analyses on complex energy policy and energy market issues with moderate direction.Develop creative solutions to complex analytical problems while taking into consideration the market and policy implications.Work to develop and refine parts of a complex regulatory proceeding in a team environment.Represent the Energy Division and/or the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) in various high-profile settings. Collaborate with other state agencies and stakeholders to help achieve statewide clean energy goals.Organize and facilitate workshops and/or stakeholder meetings. Prepare workshop reports, as needed.Assist Commissioners, their advisors, management and other decision-makers regarding issues in the assigned areas.Review and prepare comments on pending legislation and respond to inquiries from the public and legislative staff.Please note, your STD 678 (application form) will be used to determine your qualifications in order to meet the minimum qualification requirements for the advertised classification(s).
