Job Description
Career.aliyucares is seeking a dedicated and experienced Ecological Restoration Specialist to join our dynamic team in Notting Hill, London. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to vital conservation and restoration projects across urban and semi-natural landscapes. As an Ecological Restoration Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and monitoring ecological restoration plans. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing biodiversity, improving ecosystem services, and fostering resilient natural environments within and around London. You will be responsible for a diverse range of activities, from conducting site assessments and developing detailed restoration strategies to overseeing on-the-ground implementation and engaging with various stakeholders, including local communities, landowners, and governmental bodies.


This position demands a strong foundation in ecological principles, practical experience in habitat management, and a comprehensive understanding of relevant environmental legislation. You will be expected to utilize your expertise in botany, zoology, soil science, and hydrology to inform best practices in habitat creation, invasive species management, and rewilding initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed reports, grant applications, and technical specifications for projects.
Collaborate with landscape architects, engineers, and other environmental professionals.
Engage with local communities, volunteers, landowners, and stakeholders to foster participation and support.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
Monitor project progress, evaluate effectiveness, and adapt strategies as necessary.
Contribute to data collection, analysis, and interpretation for scientific publications and internal reports.
Provide ecological advice and expertise to internal teams and external partners.

Required Skills

Proven experience in ecological restoration, habitat management, or conservation.
Strong knowledge of UK ecology, flora, and fauna.
Proficiency in ecological survey techniques and data analysis.
Experience with GIS software for mapping and data management.
Excellent project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Full UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Ecology, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Professional membership with relevant bodies (e.g., CIEEM).
