About the position

Responsibilities
• Conduct health assessments on various public businesses, including food service establishments and swimming pools.

• Investigate environmental health complaints and animal bites.

• Provide technical assistance by interpreting health program requirements and regulations.

• Assist in the investigation of illness outbreaks.

• Respond to emergencies such as fires, floods, and hazardous spills.

• Investigate complaints of non-compliance and issue warnings and citations.

• Conduct on-site health inspections to ensure compliance with health standards.

• Evaluate and implement health compliance plans for businesses.

• Represent the agency during legal proceedings related to health violations.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, natural sciences, or a related field.

• Valid Arkansas driver's license.

• Knowledge of state and federal health and safety laws.

• Ability to conduct on-site inspections and investigations.

• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
