The Work You Will Do:
DISTRICT EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST / DISTRICT 4 / TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS / DISTRICT MAINTENANCE
Emergency Management Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive emergency management plans, including Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP), and providing support for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.
Key duties include coordinating with internal and external partners, conducting Hazard Mitigation activities, training staff on emergency procedures, managing emergency operations center activities, and maintaining vital emergency management information and equipment.
This position also acts as the Project Manager for Fixed Capital Outlay (FCO) building projects by developing scopes, cost estimates, monitoring contractor performance, and compliance, tracking expenditures, processing invoices, and supporting the five‑year CIP plan.

Annual Salary Range:$67, 385.94 - $87,205.33
A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,976.00 will be added to the annual salary.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Performs independent and complex administrative work for the coordination and operation of District Emergency Operations. Coordinates and monitors the district's emergency preparation and recovery activities of the District Four Emergency Operations Center (DEOC) and staffing involved in the operations of the Center. Develop and implement staffing rosters, DEOC activation and deactivation sequences, and DEOC standard operating procedures.
Coordinates communications between the DEOC, Central Office Command Center (COCC). The incumbent will use analysis of survey reports, aerial photography, topographical and geologic data, FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) Standard Index, FDOT Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges and other technical engineering resources to accomplish these tasks.
