Job Description

The Singapore Environment Council is hiring a Service Provider for a 12-month contract to support Outreach, Training & Education programmes. Responsibilities include programme coordination, volunteer management, and community engagement activities. Candidates should be detail-oriented, organized, and interested in sustainability. The role requires on-site work at the SEC office in Singapore, with a monthly fee of SGD 2,600.
The Singapore Environment Council (SEC) is seeking a Service Provider to support our Outreach, Training & Education programmes for a 12‑month contracted engagement. This engagement supports community sustainability initiatives, volunteer mobilisation, and public outreach programmes.

SEC is a non‑profit, non‑governmental organisation established in 1995, and the only recognised Singapore member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) as well as an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC). We advance sustainability standards and empower communities to adopt greener practices.

This Contract‑for‑Service arrangement provides an opportunity for individuals or independent providers to contribute to meaningful environmental programmes while gaining practical experience in public engagement and programme operations.

Scope of Services

1. Programme Coordination – Green Homes @NWCDC

The Service Provider will support end‑to‑end coordination of the Green Homes programme, including:
• Assigning audit cases to auditors and volunteers
• Liaising with auditors, volunteers and residents
• Managing internal verification of audit reports submitted
• Tracking and updating monthly results and progress for NWCDC
• Supporting the management of residents’ appeals and follow‑up actions

2. Volunteer Management Support – SEC Earth Helpers (EH)

The Service Provider will support SEC’s volunteer network through:
• Assisting in the planning and coordination of volunteering activities
• Liaising with volunteers and internal stakeholders
• Maintaining and updating the Earth Helpers volunteer database

3. Outreach & Engagement Activities

The Service Provider will assist in delivering outreach initiatives such as:
• Learning Journeys
• Booths and community engagement events
• Sustainability awareness talks and programmes
• Service Provider Requirements

The ideal Service Provider should demonstrate:
• Strong attention to detail and organised documentation
• Ability to coordinate and communicate with diverse stakeholders
• Interest in sustainability, community engagement and event facilitation
• Ability to manage tasks independently from planning to execution
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel skills advantageous)
• Responsibility, initiative, and willingness to learn
• Proficiency in more than one language (advantageous for outreach settings)
• Able to work on-site at the SEC office

Service Fees & Deliverables
• Service Fee: SGD $2,600 per month
• Fee is all‑inclusive, covering transport to and from SEC and mobile data required to fulfil service deliverables.
• Access to networking opportunities within the sustainability sector
• Practical exposure to community outreach, programme operations and stakeholder coordination.
• Opportunity to contribute ideas and improvements to ongoing programmes.
• Performance during the 12‑month period may be considered when assessing suitability for future project‑based engagements or potential longer‑term arrangements.
