YTL UK seeks an Assistant Environmental Adviser in Bath, UK, to support project delivery in engineering and construction while ensuring legal compliance and environmental best practices. The role involves working with senior team members on environmental actions, preparing applications, and liaising with stakeholders. Our in-house Environment and Planning Services team provides a wide range of services to facilitate project delivery for engineering, construction and operational projects.
Our focus is to ensure legal compliance and environmental best practice are followed, and planning and environmental legislation and the company's environmental policy are met in the development and maintenance of assets.

This role offers a hybrid of office and home working with some site visits (the option to work part of your week from home becomes available after completion of an initial training period). You will need to be located within a commutable distance from our Claverton Down, Bath office as being able to work collaboratively with our business stakeholders and project teams is key to this role.
What you'll doYour role as an Assistant Environment Adviser is essential to support the delivery of the capital programme.
You will:
work closely with more senior members of the team who will support and mentor you in this role completing environmental actions on a portfolio of individual projects to facilitate project programmes. This will include advising on environmental issues with support from technical specialists (for example, archaeology, noise, odour, contaminated land, flood risk, landscape assessment, and pollution prevention)assist with reviewing permitted development/planning permission requirements and environmental constraints for a range of water supply, sewerage and sewage treatment projectscarry out external consultation and liaison and prepare consent applications, including planning applications and environmental permitsproduce supporting reports where required, as well as preparing construction environmental management plansassist with the coordination of specialist environmental survey and assessment work within project deadlines to support consent applications, including managing specialist sub-contractors where necessaryprovide environmental information and guidance to colleagues about environmental consents, issues, timescales and costs at all stages of the project, ensuring we maintain legal compliance.The role provides development opportunities, including a pathway to obtaining professional membership to an environmental institution.
What you'll needWe are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in the environment.
In addition, you will have:
a degree in environmental science or a similar related subject, eg, geographya minimum of two years of similar project experience in a planning/environmental rolesome experience preparing planning applications and/or environmental permits, including the preparation of supporting environmental informationan understanding of UK EIA and planning legislationexcellent communication/negotiation skills with colleagues, technical specialists, external organisations and the publica high level of organisational skills and the ability to manage your own projects, workload and deadlinesgood IT skillsa full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle to use and insure for business purposes to attend site visits.It would also be beneficial if you have:
