Job Description

Nexus Ecosystems is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Consultant for Water & Environmental Sustainability in Singapore. The role involves designing and implementing AI solutions for water management and environmental sustainability, focusing on data analytics and machine learning. Key responsibilities include developing AI models, integrating data strategies, optimizing resources, and driving innovation. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 3–5 years of experience in AI/ML, preferably in water-related fields.
Role Description

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Consultant will design and implement AI-driven solutions to improve water management, wastewater treatment, and environmental sustainability. The role focuses on applying data analytics, machine learning, and digital technologies to optimise resource use, reduce environmental impact, and enhance operational efficiency for utilities, industrial clients, and public agencies.

Key Responsibilities
1. AI Solution Design & Implementation
• Develop AI/ML models for water source management, demand forecasting, leakage detection, and asset performance optimisation
• Design predictive maintenance solutions for reservoirs, treatment plants and distribution systems
• Apply computer vision and sensor analytics for real-time monitoring of water quality and environmental parameters

2. Data Strategy & Integration
• Assess data availability and quality across SCADA, IoT, and enterprise systems
• Design data pipelines and architectures to support AI applications
• Integrate AI models into existing operational systems (e.g., digital twins, control systems)

3. Sustainability & Resource Optimisation
• Use AI to optimise energy consumption, chemical dosing, and process efficiency
• Support circular economy initiatives (e.g., water reuse, waste-to-resource, nutrient recovery)
• Quantify environmental impact reductions (carbon, water footprint, pollution load)

4. Innovation & R&D
• Identify emerging AI technologies relevant to water and environmental sectors
• Collaborate with research institutions and technology partners
• Pilot and scale innovative solutions (e.g., autonomous treatment systems, AI-driven decision support)

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
• 3–5 years experience in AI/ML, with exposure to water or environmental systems preferred
• Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques
• Experience with AI tools and data engineering frameworks
• Familiarity with water infrastructure (treatment processes, distribution networks, wastewater systems) is a strong advantage
