Job Description
Unlimited Staff is seeking an Appliance Repair Supervisor in Toronto, ON, responsible for managing the service department and a team of technicians. Key duties include overseeing operations, ensuring service standards, maintaining customer relationships, and compliance with safety regulations. Candidates must have a valid G2 gas license and 5+ years of service management experience. The position is primarily office-based with site visits and requires strong leadership and organizational skills.
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service department, including the operation, maintenance, and repair of laundry equipment in multi-residential buildings. The Service Supervisor will manage a team of technicians, ensure service standards are met, drive operational efficiency, and deliver excellent customer service. A valid G2 or higher gas license for Ontario is mandatory to supervise gas-powered appliance work and installations.Team Leadership:
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of service technicians
• Assign and plan daily service schedules to ensure coverage and productivity
• Host regular team meetings to align on goals and address challenges
Operational Management:
• Ensure timely response and resolution of service calls
• Track key performance metrics (KPIs) such as response time, ticket closure, and first-time fix rate
• Identify ways to increase technician performance and efficiency
Customer Service:
• Serve as the escalation point for client issues and advanced service needs
• Maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction with service and equipment performance
Compliance and Safety:
• Supervise gas-related work and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Maintain up-to-date records for inspections, safety procedures, and service logs
• Ensure the service team follows all internal and external safety protocols
Process Improvement:
• Collaborate cross-functionally with installation and collections teams to streamline workflows
• Develop preventive maintenance strategies and implement service improvements
Budget and Inventory Management:
• Monitor department spending, labor, and parts budgets
• Oversee inventory for tools, replacement parts, and consumables
Requirements:
• Valid G2 or higher Gas Fitter License (Ontario)
• Class G Driver’s License (required)
• 5+ years of experience in service management, preferably in laundry or appliance equipment
• Skilled in team supervision and performance management
• Strong communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in field service management tools and software
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with multi-residential or commercial service environments
• Familiarity with tools like ServiceMax or other scheduling platforms
• Understanding of predictive maintenance systems
Work Environment:
• Primarily office-based in Mississauga, with regular site visits in the Greater Toronto Area
• Some after-hours work may be required to handle urgent service needs
