Job Description
Enlight Renewable Energy is seeking a VP of Construction to lead utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. The role involves strategic planning, project execution, and stakeholder engagement. Candidates can work remotely but must travel to Boise HQ twice a month initially. Clēnera is a tier-one developer and independent power producer located in Boise, Idaho, and a subsidiary of Enlight Renewable Energy (Nasdaq: ENLT). We develop, finance, construct, own, and operate utility-scale solar and energy storage facilities throughout the United States. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Vice President of Construction will lead the execution and pre-construction teams responsible for delivering high-quality utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the US. You will drive the organization’s mission to “Build Better” by ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role will also play a key role in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and innovation in construction practices. Our Construction team is currently executing 679MW solar and over 2GWh battery, and Pre-Construction is getting 2.5GW solar and 8.4GWh ready for construction in the next year.
While we will consider highly qualified remote candidates, the strong preference is a candidate in Boise or willing to relocate to Boise. If remote, the expectation will be travel to Boise HQ twice per month for at least the first six months of employment and monthly thereafter.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Strategically lead the construction team by setting clear goals and objectives that align with the company’s mission and strategic plan.
• Lead project management teams responsible for the execution of construction projects, ensuring adherence to plans, schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Provide guidance, direction, mentorship, and support to the Construction team to efficiently and cost effectively build quality utility-scale projects within specifications and requirements.
• Oversee detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and risk management strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and project deliverables.
• Negotiate complex EPC and related contracts with third parties and provide guidance to ensure accountability and compliance of contractual obligations.
• Build, maintain, and nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure project alignment and success. Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes, conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure all projects meet or exceed industry standards.
• Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions, financial accountability, and timely reporting of financial performance.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success, including contingency planning.
• Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, safety, and building codes, and stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Drive innovation in construction practices and technologies, promoting sustainable solutions and enhancing efficiency and performance.
• Provide regular updates and detailed reports to executive leadership on project status, challenges, achievements, and strategic recommendations.
• Responsible for aspects of hiring, training, and developing employees, as well as managing the department’s budget.
• Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
• Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, or related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, including at least 5 years leading construction teams and/or departments.
• AND: Minimum of 8 years of experience building utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
• Skills/Attributes:
• Demonstrated ability to lead highly effective teams, both internally and externally.
• Expertise in managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion, including complex scheduling and resource management.
• In-depth knowledge of modern construction techniques, materials, and technologies, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
• Strong understanding of solar and energy storage technologies, including design, installation, and operational considerations for utility-scale projects.
• Advanced knowledge in budgeting, financial planning, cost management, and financial reporting, with a focus on maximizing project profitability.
• Ability to implement and oversee comprehensive quality assurance and control processes, ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance.
• Skilled in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, including developing and implementing contingency plans.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and codes in the construction and renewable energy sectors, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders and drive project success.
• Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.
• Travel: 25%
